Rabbi Daniel Ettedgui

We are very fortunate to have Rabbi Daniel Ettedgui as our spiritual leader.

He was ordained in New York at JSLI and has served as a beloved teacher at Talmud Torah of Minneapolis (TTMPLS) and the Heilicher Minneapolis Jewish Day School, and served in roles in the administration at TTMPLS.

He directs all of our religious services and teaches and directs the curriculum for the Sharei Chesed Religious School. He is also very involved in adult education and offers a Torah study class bi-weekly.

He has been part of the congregation at Sharei Chesed for much of his life. He delivers his Dvar Torah on Shabbat before the Torah Service and sends a brief Dvar Torah via email to the congregation before Shabbat.

Our History

MH5_9 MP5_4 r5_edited.jpg

Sharei Chesed has been part of the Twin Cities Jewish community for over a century, beginning with small groups of immigrants in the early 1900s who came together for support, connection, and shared traditions. Over time, those roots grew into the congregation we are today—shaped by generations of families and a long history of community life. While our foundation comes from more traditional beginnings, today Sharei Chesed is a welcoming, modern synagogue built for the entire Jewish community. We’re a place where people can show up as they are, connect in ways that feel meaningful, and be part of a warm, inclusive environment. Now located in Minnetonka on the shores of Crane Lake, Sharei Chesed continues to evolve while staying grounded in what has always mattered most: community, connection, and a sense of belonging.

Adult Torah Study

Time:  10 am until we run out of things to talk about.

Location:  Somewhere on the lower level --- may vary from week to week.  Masking will be optional.

Materials:  Copies of the parashah and Rabbi Danny’s d’var from Saturday’s service will be provided.  Feel free to bring any other printed materials.

Format:  Each week a different group member will open the meeting with a few words to jump start the discussion: an ice breaker.  This could be an observation, an hypothesis, or maybe just a question about the parashah.  The discussion will focus on the moral lessons to be found in the Torah and how each of us, as Jews of the 21st century, can apply those lessons to our daily lives.

Treats:  Of course!  Breadsmith bakery will be provided.  Please bring your own beverages.
